A poor and mediocre (sp) performance against a team that wanted the match more. I.M.O. The restructuring must start with a new coach , we should not have been in the position we were having to rely on another teams loss to stay up . Very poor.

Interesting that Marchy should talk about a lack of desire in his post-match interview; in that performance we did not look like a team that needed something out of the game in order to guarantee survival. If the players can't fire themselves up for a game like that one today then when can they? I notice he mentioned the fans a couple of times though and he was right to do so; that was a good following today and I think we gave the lads some great support. Oh well, roll on next season but the verdict is MUST DO BETTER.

Having watched the video (from afar) I agree with the comments posted to date, especially about the support. Just like the 'old days' of Cougarmania.
Although Paul March does have good ideas, sometimes, unlike JD he seems unable to motivate the players when he needs to. We rarely seem to have a 'leader' on the field.
Was there a problem with Richie Barnett yesterday? My reason for asking is that he didn't appear to be running, but simply cantering with no apparent intention of making a tackle on either Barrow player, when Barrow scored their first two tries.
Don't know with Richie he did make two bad decision, think the one he left for scrum maybe he thought was going out on full as was close to the line, but the 40-20 one was poor, the first try he was the only person who chased back from the opposite wing after jones poor kick, but can't blame him he probably one past most our players to get there no one else chased back. He was been poor at times but also won us games, Whitehaven away he was awesome and that win probably kept us up. Do agree never understand such important game how we wern't fired up for it is very poor, but hopefully next season that will change.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in the close season. The club have two clear choices, stick or twist. If they choose to stick with Marchy we run the risk IMO of a further disappointing season. I accept the players have the take their share of the blame, but the facts are there for all to see. Marchy has failed to get the team performing on a number of occasions. The reasons why need to be investigated. Is it him, the players or both? Is his preparation right, what about the training and does he have the support staff to assist him?
Twist - This would be to change the coaching set-up at the club with the aim of getting in Super League 2. There would need to be some investment in the playing staff, but to echo the comments another thread, this has to be done in line with income to ensure the books are balanced.
IMO - Gary will stick as removing Paul with a 2 year contract won't be cheap.
