This last game of the season against Barrow. Is the most important game, of this season and next season.

There is no promotion or relegation next season.

This is just the same as a play of final. And we have to win it.

So come on you Cougar fans. Lets put the disappointments of this season behind. And one and all lets get behind the team for this last game.

Lets go to Barrow and shout ourselves hoarse.

Lets go and be the teams 18th man.

I will be a nervous wreck but am really looking forward to it.

AGREE WITH BOTH ABOVE POSTS. EXECEPT that there IS in effect promotion/relegation next season. Finish in Championship top 9 next season and you're in the new "Super League 2" in 2015. Finish below 9th in 2014 and you'll be in the 'third division' in 2015.

First job - get to Barrow and contribute to a Cougar victory!

Would be great to get a victory. Will be there shouting encouragement as usual unlike most. The silence was almost deafening last night. I would also be ecstatic with a loss of less than 13 points.

For a team with realistic past Super League expectations and aspirational future Super League dreams, to be going to Barrow hoping for a bonus point is pathetic and a reflection on a pathetic season. Everything that has been built recently has been lost this year on the field and going forward is not looking too hopeful either. Getting beaten is fair enough when the team performs and the other side are simply better, it's not acceptable from a fans point of view when the performances have been reprehensible... and that is the only way to describe the majority of the performances this year.

One player we have that has shown real quality hasn't been backed by March and is leaving and we're replacing him with another pensioner. The other recruitment for next year is going to have to be top drawer but personally I'd start with a new coach unfortunately.

I sincerely hope they win and stay up but for me, unless there are major changes it will just be delaying the rot that has set in.

I agree with pretty much all of that other the player you refer to. I assume you are referring to Leatherbarrow? Yep, he's got potential, but in my honest opinion he's struggled at times this season. He seems like one of those players who needs an arm round the shoulder at times. I don't think March has that in his armoury and has struggled with his leadership and man management this season. Scott will probably get what he needs from Kear next season and we'll probably see him thrive and then wonder why we let him go.

Handforth's best years are behind him agreed. On Thursday he looked a stone or two heavy to me and his defence has never been his strongest asset.

I just hope the board don't see survival as success because this season has thrown up more negatives than positives.

'Plus ca change'!

It's been the same since the '60's when we signed decent players who failed to perform for us but did great things after we'd let them go.

From what I've seen from afar and witnessed when I've visited Cougar Park (aka 'Lawkholme') this season, then I agree with others that Paul March should give younger players their chance since they can't be any worse than he is himself.

I've heard more than enough apologies in his post-match interviews. We have the players but do we have he coach? Questions need to be asked and answered. As I said in an earlier post, we shouldn't be in this situation at this stage of the season.

If we are relegated then we only have ourselves to blame.

The post match videos are awful , excuse after excuse and all the time
his hands touching and brushing his face and head. Classic body language signs of
denial and deciet.
Not good.
