Everything that has been built recently has been lost this year on the field and going forward is not looking too hopeful either. Getting beaten is fair enough when the team performs and the other side are simply better, it's not acceptable from a fans point of view when the performances have been reprehensible... and that is the only way to describe the majority of the performances this year.
One player we have that has shown real quality hasn't been backed by March and is leaving and we're replacing him with another pensioner. The other recruitment for next year is going to have to be top drawer but personally I'd start with a new coach unfortunately.
I sincerely hope they win and stay up but for me, unless there are major changes it will just be delaying the rot that has set in.
I agree with pretty much all of that other the player you refer to. I assume you are referring to Leatherbarrow? Yep, he's got potential, but in my honest opinion he's struggled at times this season. He seems like one of those players who needs an arm round the shoulder at times. I don't think March has that in his armoury and has struggled with his leadership and man management this season. Scott will probably get what he needs from Kear next season and we'll probably see him thrive and then wonder why we let him go.
Handforth's best years are behind him agreed. On Thursday he looked a stone or two heavy to me and his defence has never been his strongest asset.
I just hope the board don't see survival as success because this season has thrown up more negatives than positives.
