I see in Rugby League Weekly (page 13) Castleford boss Daryl Powell has loaned Charlie Martin to his old club Featherstone Rovers for a month. Wasn't Powell against the dual registration system when at Rovers and isn't Martin and Castleford partnered with us?
Heard a group of Hunslet fans yesterday bemoaning the fact that though they had all those Superleague players on DR "we should no be in this position!" The whole thing is a farce and makes a mockery of the competition. Some clubs could go down and lose thousands because of it - hope it's not us!
Charlie Martin I felt gave his all for us and respect to him for that. Others maybe didn't quite perform how many expected.
As for Powell, since leaving the Cougars he's always seemed to have issue with us (my opinion). I'd love to know why, if I'm correct, given that we paid a massive fee for him and from what I hear was on a decent amount of money even by today's standards.

Personally think from our point of view the argument in terms of dual reg should be around producing our own players (and to be fair in our division Leigh , Fax n Fev have the same argument )...
We have done everything the RFL have requested (as have the above teams ) to work on our own 'production line'....Lynham. Patchett, Kelly . Stead n Hawthorne are part of that with more to come..but the RFL seems hell bent on disenfranchising all these lads because they chose to stay loyal to their home town club....are these lads going to get dropped in favor of SL Boys ?? sure the powers that be would love that so they dont look like idiots ..BUT .players develop n grow at different stages and akin to that club loyalty that is massive in our u20,s it's something money cant buy n anyone who saw our young uns performance against Leigh will argue is there in bucketfuls....RFL you are so so wrong ........
