According to cougarmania the rearrange away game against workington is on wed 14th aug with a ko of 8pm, wot a joke because that will be 2 trips to to cumbria in 4 days as we play whitehaven on the 11th aug, will not be alot of away support for that one because a walk 4 estelle starts on that day. Wot a joke. |

The RFL confirmed the date as the we could not agree a date with Workington. It was a fixture 'dispute' shall we say. We wanted to play it on Northern Rail Semi Final weekend but Workington have now rearranged their fixture with Featherstone for that date. |

Brilliant! What earthly use are RFL? From their actions it would appear that thy simply look after themselves and Super League without ever thinking about Championship clubs and their supporters! |

Wot a joke. Cumberland. 'Cumbria' is a made-up non-county which isn't even as old as me. |

The rules state that the postponed match shall be played in the first mid-week after the date scheduled for the game but Cougars didn't want to travel mid-week. The RFL allowed them to get away with their refusal by saying they could fit it in to a free weekend when both clubs were out of cup competitions. Well there's only been one such weekend and Town's postponed game at Fev has been pencilled in for quite some time. Result, Cougars travel to Cumbria twice in 4 days. Get over it. |

Well there's only been one such weekend and Town's postponed game at Fev has been pencilled in for quite some time. Result, Cougars travel to Cumbria twice in 4 days. Get over it. As I recall, the match was originally called off due to Workington failing to look after their pitch (let the pitch dry out too much so when we had heavy rain it lay on top of the "hard skin"). Workington then wanted us to play on Tuesday night which was too quick a turnaround for part time players with jobs to look after. This quick turnaround is ok for full time teams but not those like ours. At that point in the calendar there were potential free weekends to use but Workington did not want this. You are probably favourites to beat us at your place anyway, but a cynic might say you refused weekend dates to give yourself the extra advantage of making us travel midweek. It is what it is, and we'll just have to get on with it. |
