I see Steve Ferres has resigned as Chief Exec at Castleford. It seems that maybe the board there didn't share his degree of ambition for the club. I wonder if the Cougar directors could get him to Cougar Park as Cougars' Chief Executive? I know the guy will need to earn a living and that the directors probably wouldn't/couldn't afford to pay him the going rate - but I wonder if he would come on the basis he can have the first £xx,000 of extra revenue he brings in as his salary? Apparently he's a top man in this sort of role. Some on here might remember him playing for Keighley for a time? Mr Ferres is experienced at getting a membership scheme going and would be good at co-ordinating all those people willing and able to volunteer their services for a certain number of hours a week in varioius ways to support the revival of the Cougars. |

I think Ferres has bigger fish to fry than Cougars (or is that Red Devils to roast ) I've often wondered what he could have done with us, but having seen his track record, he seems like the kind of bloke who walks when he does not get what he expects. Whether that's professional pride, being unrealistic or over ambition I don't know. Seems like he's done well at Tigers until someone on the board has said a big "no" to something. Whatever the case, I can't see how we can afford him. |

I heard he asked the Cas BOD for an additional 100K to his budget for ground works - they said no - he walked. |

From an outsider's perspective it seemed like he and Fozzard (Salford bound too?) were doing a good job. Didn't Fozzard state issues surrounding potential sponsorship from a big Ford dealership? |
