Post subject:  Cougar pair to coach Service Area team.

Cougars Community Foundation Manager Dean Muir and the club’s Development Officer Tom Hall have been selected to coach the Bradford and Keighley Service Area Under -18 team for 2009 – 2010.

Service areas are regional groupings of key organisations in the sport that are tasked with co-ordinating the development of the sport within the area.

Keighley Cougars, through the Cougar Community Foundation, have been delivering several initiatives aimed at young people and have been co-ordinating with the town’s amateur Rugby League clubs on various development initiates.

Barry Eaton, the Keighley Cougars Head Coach, said: “It’s really pleasing that the Service Areas are giving young people the opportunity to develop their coaching skills.

“Dean and Tom are dedicated members of the Cougar staff. They understand the need for the delivery of well directed coaching and the encouragement of young players.

“It’s a real feather in the club’s cap to have them appointed to such a key position. It reflects well on the club’s commitment not only to the game in our community but also to development of the sport throughout the whole of Bradford and Keighley.”

Jo Drapier, Bradford and Keighley Service Area Co-ordinator, commented on the appointments: “Dean and Tom have showed great enthusiasm and commitment over the last year towards the Service Area Representative programmes, and I congratulate them on their appointments.

“The Under-18s representative programme, gives a chance for amateur players to represent Bradford and Keighley Service Area, with a chance to progress through the ranks, and represent Yorkshire, England and the Great Britain Community Lions”.

Bradford and Keighley will play other Service Areas across Yorkshire on Saturday 26th September2009 at Castleford Panthers.
