Just been on the Keighley News website and seen that plans to build a new supermarket on Hattersley's Mills site have been resurrected. I have no problem with more shops wanting to come to Keighley but you just wonder how they all keep going in a town of Keighley's size. Ones I can already think of are Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Netto, Iceland, Aldi and the one opposite Gala bingo (dont know its name). Then if it is Lidl that come to the town thats 8, seems a hell of alot. |

? and the people are working where, making what, to pay for all this "shopping" Who is the biggest employer in Keighley? or for that matter in the Aire valley? I don't know the answer so wouldn't mind being enlightened, but what I do know is that through political dogma and greed once viable industries and skills are no longer there or needed. The fact that they are other places on the planet is irrelevant! |

You'd think there were more than enough supermarkets about already! Maybe it's just me, but I'd love it if Keighley got hold of a few 'interesting' shops, instead of just the big-name stores that you get everywhere else. Me, I'd llike to see a couple of good outdoors shops, sports shops, 'hippy' shops... ...so what would enrich YOUR shopping experience? |
