The second half tonight was the most pathetic , abject, spineless performance I have seen for many years! Mistakes, dropped ball, needless penalties, lack of team discipline, an absolute fiasco! and these shortcomings have been obvious all season
In my opinion Eaton has failed as a coach, if it were me I'd sack him.

I imagine he is as unhappy as the rest of us if not more so. I can't say I am in the camp of sacking the man. Far from it. I think it is the problem of beating Oldham and getting on a high forgetting that they were having serious problems when we played them.

And how has he failed?.

This is how keighley have done while Barry has been at the club.

2006. 11th (4 wins) with Peter Roe as Director of Football
2007. 10th (6 wins)
2008. 5th (15 wins)
2009. 2nd (9 wins) so far

Reason for him to be sacked. No way. It was the our 1st home defeat of the season against the form team of the league.

Well its a good job you have nothing to do with that decision. Are you unable to read the league table and see that we are in the best position we have been in for around 5 years. We are second place, and we have the fate in our hands, not waiting for other teams to slip up, if we win our games we finish second. I have not heard something so daft in a long time. Barry did not drop the ball, Barry did not throw the silly passes, Barry did not give away the penalties, do I have to go on. The team were well beaten in the end, by a ruthless Dewsbury who have not lost a league game this season. Up until last night we had not lost a game at home, how long ago since we could say that. Get a grip, our season so far has been our most successful for a long time. Barry does a fantastic job for the club, the players are all playing well apart from at times last night. I realise tat you have the right to your opinion, but so do I to mine. The players need to learn from last night, control their discipline and work towards the Workington game and getting a good result from that game. I wish them all well, I am sure they will be put through their paces in training by Barry to try and sort out the errors and work on earning a win at Workington.

Think its on par with the letter someone wrote to the League Express the day after our playoff loss v Rochdale who also deemed Barry a failure.

Id say 99.99 per cent of the cougar faithful disagree with them both.

Cheers for that.

It save me writing the same thing.

One thing that could be questioned is Barry coaching from the touch line.
I wonder if it would be better if he was up in the stand.

Well said bakewell, I think your letter was spot on, yes we lost, but we have 4 matches left and we can win them all, we are not a poor team, just a bad 40 minutes of rugby on 1 night. We will make the play-offs and we can win them and still get promoted to the championship.

If you are so great aparejodor, why don't you coach the team, and see how well you do?

Hmmm!

Assuming that Barry is "good" coach then it's the players who are bad!

Assuming the players are "good" then Barry is bad.

Or somewhere in between.

Very disappointed after last nights game but watching the TV coverage only emphasised what I, and probably a lot of others including barry and the team, already knew.

When this team clicks, and so far IMHO it hasn't, it really could be as good as dewsbury , but i don't think they think they could be.

Let's be realistic shall we.

2nd in a league where one team is head and shoulders above the rest yet would posssibly find the championship a tough proposition.

Assuming that the Cougars were successful in the play offs do you REALLY think the team could compete in it's present guise?

Really, truthfully, HONESTLY!!!

As things stand at the moment the answer has to be NO!!!

Could they?

Yes, but it would need a lot of hard work and sacrifice which for part time players is not the easiest thing to do.

So it's down to the coach and players to decide what they want to do.
