Amazing innit? A town with a poulation not that much bigger than ours. They win the Championship and are allowed to take their rightful place in the top division. Now you can say a lot of negative things about football, but you can also say it will never be as bent as Rugby League. |

RL has it's problems but Soccer is as bent as a 9 bob note in so many ways. They do however don't change winning things and allow the best teams to progress THROUGH RESULTS ON THE FIELD!! That I will admit is where they beat RL into a pulp!! |

I've never been a burnley fan, but one thing they DO have is the support of their local community. I heard summat today about them having the highest level of hometown support in football, in terms of the percentage of the town that turns out for games. Be nice if we could tap into how they've achieved that, eh?! |

Be nice if we could tap into how they've achieved that, eh?! We've managed it before to an extent. Problem is we have to battle against the cynicism created by being crapped on in 95 (thanks RFL ) and by the drawbridge being pulled up, dependant on some highly dubious points system (again, thanks to the rfl). I'm not sure how the club can really sell itself under those conditions, but they're giving it a hell of a go. |

It'd be nice if they can find a way to return to the heady days of 'Cougar Power'! I agree they are trying, but I think there could be a market to tap into in the outlying districts. We don't see much publicity for Cougars in Silsden, for instance. As someone on here said, it's difficult to see what else they can do, though. Posters? A free pint? |

Morning the T shirt is very temptin as i would be there with camera just to see you dancing around, anyway re Silsden if i were to get posters etc done would someone offer to go round and put them up not just in Silsden but other areas. he workforce is so stretched with doing stuff in town and the schools programme and most of the guys are working 6 day weeks so if we can have some help then i would get the posters done straight away. Give me a call at the office if you can help, 606044 Thanks, Helen |
