Beat you to it Andy. An excellent performance from our Reserve squad not just because Baz and our Simon were playing .( ita a long time since Simon did 90 mins at Prop). Though they both aquitted themselves well and seemed to enjoy it all. But it refreshed my soul to see honest unpretentious effort and simple rugby being played. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and would have paid £10 to watch it , many thanks to the lads. The score was at one point 38 -6 till the ref got involved as usual and Barrow are apparently TOP of the table. We definitely do have a good few young lads who i honestly feel could put some of our current 1st team to shame . Sadly NO Team sheet so i havent a clue who most of them were ?. SO why are we not seeing some of them playing at least subbing in the 1 st team . WIGAN all over again and sadly Batley and most Senior clubs . What is it about this AGE business for these youngsters . Ill always remember when Simon was being interviewed for his big step up to the Wigan 1 st team squad ( just days before Lyndsay sacked the whole Academy squad to meet the salary cap to buy Fielden) Dean Bell came out with the memorable words " If your good enough you are OLD enough." I honestly believe Dean meant it and believed it but the people who actually run the Team squads are scared to death of implementing it. I know a lot of the reasons why and have never agreed with them, i didnt when i was playing and as i have said before ive seen countless very good youngsters just fade out of sight tired of waiting and disallusioned. But never give up, come on Baz lets see some of these lads being used stop wasting money on players like Lowe. Use what youv'e got at home and bring them on as you want them to, not how they think they want to play. Were a progressive forward thinking Club lets have some forward thinking promotion of our playing squads, lets lead the way again . What about taking at least 3 of the Reserves and trying them against Workington and rest a few 1st teamers for the Dewsbury game . Again thanks for the game pity they are not all on a Saturday so we can get to see more of them. |

This was the 1st reserve game I have missed at home and have always been impressed with the players and quality of rugby. It is a real shame this is not better supported as I am sure once you see them play you would watch again in my humble opinion. |

The force be with you Power girl and at £4 entrance its a steal. Is it usually Thurs they have to play though, i presume because of the footie. For me getting from Lancaster to Bolton then over to Cougars for KO its a bit of a time probvem. But you are well right, its value for money and entertaining and a pleasure to watch them. Where is their fixture list because we will try and make more games especially the AWAY ones which may be a bit nearer for us folk in Lancs. |
