Big article by the coach.

Interesting, but on this occasion I will let others get their 10 pennuth in first, assuming anyone does, before I comment.

Based on being at the game against York Barry is being way too kind to the referee but obviously has to be careful whereas I don,t.

Some of the calls were beyond belief to put it mildly.

OK, I'll bite...
Everyone is human and makes mistakes, including players and coaches. Without refs there'd be no game. In football every player can make mistakes, except the goalkeeper...because his mistakes result in a conceding a score.
However if you volunteer to step up to the mark to take responsibility you stand to be judged by your performance in any profession. Referees are no different. If your bad decisions even out, then most fans will accept that.
But acceptance of ineptitude serves to lower standards, which is no good to the game and certainly no good to referees. Which is why there is a right and duty to criticise. The criticism by Barry is specific and detailed, so I see no problem in that. I'm sure he's delivered criticism as he sees fit to the team.

I think that a ref has a very hard job to do.
There is no way he can see everything. I think one of the big problems is the linesman don't really seem to do enough.

Time and time again, we can clearly see something not right, this can be in full view of the linesman and yet they don't do anything about it.

Regarding the york game in particular where there was a blatant knock on and I mean blatant the ref was next to the player so seeing it does not come into it, one thing I will say is touch judges see as well and do very little.

There is no doubt it is hard job being ref but they choose to do it.

there has been many discusions about the role of the toutchjudge on many forums , but unless the powers that be change what they can and cannot get involved in were stuck with the one in the middle only.
Just seen a try by wigan on tv which was forward and the t,judge did nowt about it , so its the same ish in superdooper league
