Keighley Cougars players are set to bare all in aid of Red Nose Day on Friday, March 13. The brave Cougar boys will strip down to their birthday suits for a ‘Calendar Girl’ style calendar which will be sold to raise funds for both Red Nose Day and Sue Ryder Care’s Manorlands Hospice, the club’s own charity. The players’ modesty will be protected by a special Red Nose Day board! The Rugby League club is working in conjunction with Sainsbury’s Keighley store to deliver the calendar. Helen Carter, the Cougar’s General Manager, said: “We’re looking forward to working with Sainsbury’s store manager Paul Coulson and his colleagues on this project. “The players wanted to help both charities so they decided to go the ‘Full Monty’ and join the calendar trend. “The calendar is being produced cost free by Sainsbury’s and will go on sale for £6 with £3 per copy sold going to the Red Nose Day charity and the remaining £3 will to Manorlands backing up the funds we already raise for the hospice through the KC Club. “It’s a fun way of helping two deserving causes and we’re hoping that the young ladies of Keighley will be sufficiently moved to buy the calendar in big numbers. “And this will be a way in which the players can back-up the efforts of KC Club members.” Head Coach Barry Eaton said: “The players are conscious that they’re part of the community and by taking part in this project can help people less fortunate than themselves”. Sainsbury’s Keighley store manager Paul Coulson said, “As a national supermarket chain we are the main sponsor for Comic relief, however we also are keen to support local charities.” “The Manorlands Hospice has been our chosen charity since the start of this year and we have been carrying out various fundraising activities culminating in our joint sponsorship of the Midnight walk on the 6th June.” “ Linking up with the KC Club to produce this calendar is a fantastic demonstration of two local concerns pooling their resources, to raise money for two very different yet equally deserving causes” |

oohh cant wait. I had one of the last Cougar Calendar which contained cougar players without shirts on which was 1995. I bought 2, one to use as a calendar and one to keep on the picture of Chris Robinson. I wonder how many I will have to buy this time, as there are a few players I wouldn't mind keeping up lol. |

Wasn't that the' infamous swimming trunks & pair of socks shot ? ' I'm not too sure about this years bunch though ..... the thought of Lowey wearing nothing but a red nose & a cheeky grin is enough to put anyone off. |
