Post subject:  NORTHERN RAIL CUP
I am confused we are currently top of pool 1 with one game left.

I have read rugby mag today which says we have sailed through to next round but not even the players are aware what is going on.

By my reckoning we should be okay but could do with a minium of a bonus point next week against Barrow.

Anyone got any different ideas on how it works.

Basically Top 4 from each group go into an open draw knock out and it goes from there.

Keighley not through just yet.

The table looks like this.

Keighley Played 3 Points 7
Oldham P3, Pts7
Halifax P2, Pts 6
Sheffield P3, Pts 6
---------------------------------------
Widnes P2, Pts 4
Blackpool P2, Pts 4
Barrow P2, Pts 3

Gateshead, Rochdale and Hunslet out of it.

we beat barrow, then we should be through, but alot depends on the games this weekend. We could do with sheffield beating Halifax, dont know what would best from the Blackpool v widnes game as both could quailify at keighleys expence.

Think its wrong that teams with games in hand havnt yet played them as it the final scheduled round of group games this weekend.

We need Halifax to beat Sheffield, because Halifaxs last game is against Blackpool, and i would rather Sheffield not qualify as a certain by losing.

Halifax will most likely finish on 12 pts (sheffield and blackpool to play)
Blackpool won't qualify (widnes and halifax to play)
Barrow could qualify (keighley and widnes to play)
widnes could qualify (barrow and blackpool to play)
keighley could qualify (barrow to play)
oldham will likely qualify (hunslet to play)
sheffiled doubtful to qualify (halifax to play)

read into it what you will, but we will have to wait and see
