God do we need one!Danny Jones is a quality player dont get me wrong and his positional kicks in play are bob on but he must have a serious confidence problem when attempting conversions, today not a problem because Hunslet were decidedly average but come Dewsbury,Oldham etc then what, two points could be the difference couldnt it?your thoghts please.

Danny was first class last year with hos boot, so I suspect he just needs a few more matches to srt it out again then he will be knocking them over for fun again.

He shouldn't need afew games to get going, he's had all close season to practice. He's got the best teacher of all in Barry.

If we were SL then I agree we should hit the ground running, but as these lads have pretty tough day jobs and then do the training after work then I think we can forgo a couple of average kicking performances. It does need sorting though.

Kickers have good days and bad days. Unless its Sean Long whos just bad all the time yet is still St Helens 1st choice kicker.

You would be looking for a whole new squad if you start looking at the finer points of players performances. As he is the goalkicker his bad days are highlighted all the more. I reckon he has lapses and nothing more than that. On the whole over the last two seasons he has been more than able popping them over from all angles (as well as missing a few). In case you did not notice there was a fair wind yesterday and I would defy anyone to have kicked a conversion successfully from the scratting shed towards the petrol station. Have patience he hasn't become a bad place kicker overnight and unless you have someone in mind within the clubs budget (and is available) or within the current squad then accept what you've got.
