Another step closer.

I think it would have been better if Batley won convincingly, that would have left us with a win against Wales for pretty much safety based on points difference. Well done Haven though.

It seems momentum is against Batley, everything seems to be going wrong. It would be a shame for the Batley fans if relegation was on the back of a points deduction, but its something im hoping for im afraid. There's a lot of negativity from Batley fans suggesting up to 6 points but i cant see the RFL digging the knife that deep.

I think the RFL will think of a random number and maybe not even any points at all, but i think 2 points. Effectively taking the win away but giving them the bonus point. This gives us five points on batley and sadly for them a loss vs Dewsbury and it could be curtains.

We have to beat wales of course, a point might be enough if other results/points deductions go in our favour. Just goes to show how crucial the Donny game was, are we on a bit of a roll?

Good point , BUT , if the punishment is not deemned severe enough then Sheffield
Are gonna be shouting and bawling , Aston is not the sort of coach to yake it laying down is he ?
Personally think it wll be 3 points minimum possibly 6 forboth teams that are guilty.

I would also hope that it goes some way towards scrapping the whole DR shambles.
I never liked the idea 100 % and would be glad to see the game back on a level plaing field
so to speak.

So what will the illustrious RFL do with Batley?

Who knows?

This comment has been taken from Monday's 'Daily Express' website:

Quote:Legia beat Celtic 4-1 in Warsaw and then 2-0 in Scotland, but the Murrayfield result was wiped out and Ronny Deila’s team were awarded a 3-0 victory to put them through on away goals after UEFA found the Polish side guilty of fielding suspended player Bartosz Bereszynski, who came on in the final few minutes of the return leg.

which should give the panel that actually makes the decision some guidance of what other sports deem to be 'fair play'.

Check the full story (if you wish) by clicking on the following link:

But, as 'Burley Cougar' quite-rightly states, it's about time that the so-called 'Administrators' of OUR game finally put an end to the FARCE that is 'DUAL REGISTRATION'.

The 'RULES OF THE GAME' were designed to provide a 'level playing field' for all Clubs. However, as we all know, this is not the case today!

I would like to collate statistics about every Championship Club which has a 'Dual Registration' agreement, during the 2014 Season, with a Super League Club and the effect that Dual Registration players have had on their results, but I don't have the time to do so for every Championship Club by myself.

My correspondence with Blake Solly has simply resulted in a response that can be best described as 'Bull***t baffles brains'!

I have started my investigation with Workington's DR arrangement with Wigan but would appreciate offers from 'fellow Cougars' to assist so that by the end of the season we can have a meaningful and detailed compilation for discussion, despite the fact that the RFL might choose to ignore whatever facts that it might produce.

I must also point out that this is not a vendetta against Workington, or any other Championship Club, but AGAINST the ill-conceived principle that DUAL REGISTRATION does not affect results when every supporter actually knows that IT DOES!

.... well at least for some Championship Clubs.

In the meantime, I hope that my plea for assistance will not fall on 'deaf ears'.

'Yes DR is making the game suffer' all teams that use DR generally go one way 'down the toilet'

Finishing 5th or 6th gets £175'000. After that its £150,000. The League leaders get £500,000 with £450,000 for second. After that 3rd gets £200,000.

A huge difference and Leighs investment is paying dividends. Finishing 6th attracts £25,000 more plus the playoff income generated which would be pretty useful, pays for a decent player really.

Anyway the point being featherstone are no doubt playing us on the last game of the season for a £200,000 bonus! Batleys partial fate is announced tomorrow.
