A couple of years ago a friend of mine who I spent many conversations persuading him to come to Cougar Park turned up. It was the Batley Sky game of 2010. He came along with his two kids. He and they loved the atmosphere the game and so did his kids.

He sat in the stand and very close to a member of staff from Cougars.

As the game went on and the excitement grew and chances were missed and chances were taken, as the ref got things right and got some things wrong the member of staff went from shouting a few swear words to constantly yelling swear words none stop at his team, or at nobody in particular as they expressed exasperation.

My mate said he enjoyed the game, but said he would never come back here with kids as the foul language was a disgrace. I felt embarrassed for persuading him to come.

He has never been back and never will.

I have seen other Dads with there lads enjoying the first game. Some part take in the shouting and appear oblivious to the swearing. But a few I have seen have been pretty offended by it and never returned.

Few people never swear at some time and place, but why the need to shout it for the whole ground to hear?

I don't think anybody expects a crowd of robots clapping when prompted, but just a wee bit more consideration and thought before a fog horn volume of Foul language.

I personally like the banter, shouting between fans, Who are you, You thought you scored etc and of Course at Fax the What's up Pussycat etc. The drum adds hugely to the atmosphere.

It is the Stewards job to control this. (Good luck with that)

Hmmm reductio ad ridiculum... I don't think I quite advocated that, merely that swear words are essentially just words.

Yesterday at Swinton the foul and abusive language audio track was played three times after bad language was heard from the stands. Maybe this needs to be the approach just constantly reminding people it isn't okay!

Now I have to admit in the heat of the moment it is easy for a swear word to slip out and this is more so for the players. However they do need to get a handle of it (especially the main offenders). As its already been said maybe a one off just a bit angry or over passionate you can allow but not constantly.

This game is meant to be one we are trying to encourage families to attend but families are never going to attend when such language is being heard.

Now can 'Guess Who' please stop arguing with the other members and please report back to someone who can help sort this problem or at the very least put a plan in place to sort this.

I have no connection to the club other than being a fan and a mod on here. So taking that into account why you think i can do anything is beyond me.

Seems to me that some body has come up with a starting point to remind people it's unacceptable.

I will ensure the foul & abusive language and racist behaviour message is played at least twice but this won't do anything in the bar area.

MR DUBANE, I'D SUGGEST YOU CONCENTRATE ON PRODUCING A TOP NOTCH PRE MATCH MUSIC SHOW & TIMELY PLAYER SCORING TUNES DURING THE MATCH - TO RESPECT THE HIGH QUALITY NOW BEING DISPLAYED BY THE PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS ON THE PITCH. IF THE DIRECTORS ARE ON THE BALL YOU SHOULD NOW BE IN THE LAST CHANCE SALOON - VOLUNTEER OR NOT.

Don't shout
