He was rueing the fact that his team despite having a brand new stadium was suffering , not just through the loss of bar income , but the fact that opposition and more importantly home fans were staying away both prior and post match because of the facilities / service /bar prices /lack of consistency in staff offered by the Stadium Management Company ....that was impacting in the amount that the SMA was demanding ...
Compare that to another certain Championship Club who's ground and facilities have expanded considerably over the years but the Clubs ideal has not been to let go of the people who have done their jobs for years but upskill them and equip them with the knowledge and understanding to enable them to deal with the increased usage,...keep the same staff....work with the Club management flexibly ..

Spot on Rach.
I think i may have a idea of who you are talking about.
Take into account ours wouldnt be a new stadium. Its going to be redeveloped over 5 years.
If Gary was to get rid of the staff to bring a more corporate style of match day experience. It would ruin what the club is about. It would seem Leigh have got it wrong.
Batley/Feartherstone seem to have it just right. I honestly think we should go down that route. Lets keep the kitchen that is at the back of the main stand. Make them the main supplier of food on match days.
Make the bar bigger for match days. Keep what is a great bar/atmosphere. Get more kids down for classroom days.
From speaking to Gary he does seem, to be focused of making the club a community club. Also making it a great asset for the town. That is unless i have read him wrong.
I have not seen the plans. But this seems to be quite a way along the line. A lot of thought has gone into this. In building terms £5M isnt very much. But if you do it right it can do a hell of a lot. Not ripping down the main stand but using what you can must be a big saving. I have been told there are grants available for this type of thing.
