I hope that with Sam leaving the club there is going to be something done by the club he really deserves something.

Like what?

Being paid for playing Rugby?

Nobody ever paid me when I left a job (except redundancy) so why should he be any different

Get a grip league fan, there was not a mention of giving him more money its was just a mention of the club doing something nice for him. I agree girl power I hope they do something too. I think it will probably be done at the end of season presentation night, but something extra should be done for him on Sunday. Maybe a bbq after the game to encourage the fans to stay and have a beer with Sam.

and the difference about helping your business out in a time of crisis is ????????????????

Get a grip on reality.

It's no different to what 1000's of others do

He got paid for playing Rugby League and other people get paid for the jobs they do.

Are we going to "recognise" them all?

and as an aside Mr Aspinall if you have the audacity to think you know me, and my life and its that important to you, then you are a very sad individual and I really feel sorry for you

League fan have you never left a job where they have done a collection and bought you a leaving present, or did they use the money to go out and celebrate once you had left. As this is what is being suggested for Sam, the fact the club gets him a leaving present.

no your life is of no importance to me really, never been that carried away with pond life, and money was never mentioned in my post either, I realize Sam has been paid to play our beloved game I think I might bring him some free steak on Sunday and award him with that.

Think League Fan must have had a bad day at the office....

Yes we know all the boys get played for playing , but its not exactly a kings ransom by any means ...and I'm fairly sure for our 'average' squad members, if you work out time taken out for training ,both team and personal plus travelling to and from Cougar Park ,they are not on the best hourly rate ever....add to that the restrictions on their life outside RL...diet , staying in on the weekends , watching what medications they take etc...its not a life for everyone

Sam is not moving to another pro RL club but is retiring ... he derserves a real send off , a great pro who has never let anyone down

League fan what bit of my post did you not understand Sam has been a great pro for the club and should receive recognition for this fact. You remind me of a pint of tetleys, bitter that is.

Sam has been one of the most loyal players a club could ask for. Ok he hasnt had much 1st team rugby this season, but he has kept himself fit, played in the reserves without at hint of a grumble, (unlike a certain Scottish International), and played to his capability, and when called upon for the 1st team, played like a true pro.
