Who gets the accolade now that Anthony McGrath has called time on his career at the age of 37? Averaged 40.2 with the bat and 14 with the ball in his Test career. Unsurpassed in the modern era. Probably Rikki Clarke (32 batting, 15 bowling) |

Fantastic servant for YCCC. Hopefully I'll see him around Bingley soon and I'll buy him a pint! Mags will be missed! |

Going to leave Yorkshire bloody short in the middle order now though, particularly if Root and Bairstow are away for chunks of the summer. |

Which, all things being equal, they will be. Would presume it frees up a chunk of the wage bill (and pie bill) if we need to bring someone in. Did anyone say David Miller? |

2 half centuries and 3 wickets against the all-conquering Zimbabwe at home clearly make him the premier all-rounder of his generation. Ashley Giles also scored 2 half centuries in the same 2 tests. Tells you all you need to know about that bowling attack. How on earth are you going to cover the pie/beer/cake takings in his absence though? A place on the coaching staff to help alleviate your massive debts?? |
