belfast, sheffield, coventry, and nottingham seem to be the richest clubs

hull, dundee and fife much lower budget

i go to the odd game every season at hull and enjoy it, though you can see the standard is not top notch

Keep meaning to go to a game and never get round to it. A) Are you still going to games? and B) how the bloody hell do you find the time and money?

Cardiff fan here. Got into hockey itself from an old school friend of mine back who was a big Manchester Storm fan. Took me to a game where they were playing the Cardiff Devils. As I refused to support the Manchester team, I pledged allegiance to Cardiff and have done so ever since.

Don't go to that many now. Went for the first time this season last night. Actually prefer this lower league as teams are only allowed 4 import players. You should get down there it's not a bad evening out. Gets pretty cold in there though.

Anyone know the reason why the national anthem is always played before ice hockey games?

Keep meaning to go to watch t'Phoenix, but its a bit far to get to Alty from Bradford. Used to go to watch them at MEN whilst I was at uni (in the first post- Manchester Storm season) then when I lived over in Wigan I used to enjoy my Sunday evening trips down to Altrincham.

Another option is Sheffield Steelers, wouldn't mind seeing them up against Nottingham. Its a shame West Yorkshire doesn't have a team playing at a reasonable level, not sure the Bradford team in the ENL North count as that!!

Only just discovered this forum, excellent!! I'm a Phoenix season ticket holder although i've missed a few games already this season, cant encourage people enough to get down to any of their local teams and watch a game, behind RL its my favourite sport!

As for the national anthem being played before the games i'm not too sure why they do it, i'm guessin its an old tradition they just stick with!
