I remember him well from the 80s. Cracking bowler and a handy lower order batsman (lefthanded even though he bowled right, IIRC) RIP |

I wasn't old enough to remember his heroics in 1981 (although I've seen the footage plenty of times) but when I started getting into cricket he was our premier fast bowler having picked up a lot of wickets on a NZ tour. Sad news to hear of his passing. Used to see him around Loughborough alot, where he was coaching, and saw no sign he was ill last time I saw him a few weeks ago so it must have been very sudden. Sad news. |
