Awful news, Backspin, who was going for the The Supreme Novices or the Neptune, died in his stable overnight. Suspected heart attack. RIP Backspin, and thoughts to connections. |

Have a few fancies myself - mainly Dantes Storm in the Foxhunters and Cork All Star in the same race though the latter won't run according to connections. You going this year Gaz? |

Had a play on the handicaps today and Neptune Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle A Media Luz 7/1 E/W NRNB Was Segals pick for the Triumph, starting to get hang of hurdles and settle after coming from the France flat were it was in Group 3 races an one Group 1 against Sarafina, key to the bet in the NRNB as the Triumph was its target but todays weights might have changed that. Quote:Henderson admitted the publication of the weights for the Festival handicaps had thrown him into confusion. His Molotof is the top weight for the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle while A Media Luz, who was to be diverted to the Triumph Hurdle instead, has 11st 4lb. He said: "Our plans have rather fallen out of synch, especially with the four-year-olds. What we thought was sorted a fortnight ago has now fallen out of order - some are now in and some are now out - and we need to go away and have a think." Kumbeshwar EW 25/1 King has had this race in mind for it for awhile and only went in the Adonis after only a week since its 2nd try over hurdles so it could get in the Fred Winter, didn't do too badly in the Adonis for most of the race and had to give weight to the two which left it behind on the run for home. Neptune Novices Hurdle Rock On Ruby 13/1 E/W NRNB Stanjames are a stand out 13/1 today which is a nice price to have a go at, has won a bumper round Cheltenham and ran well behind Bobs Worth in the trial travelled well before hitting a hurdle which seem to take abit out of it before getting back up on the run in up the hill before rider lost whip. County Hurdle Soldatino 16/1 E/W NRNB Ran well back to form in the totesport trophy and is a nice weight for this if not going for the Champion has good course record here after winning the Triumph last year an is a great EW price. |

Interesting comment by Pipe on Chartreux its down for the Coral Cup and the Pertemps looks more likely to make the cut for the latter and heads the market at 12/14s only had one run this season since last years Albert Bartlett, coming 3rd behind Ashkazar in a decent handicap over 3 miles round Cheltenham an has gone up 1lb for that. |

Backed Ghizao for The Arkle @ 9/2 NRNB I think of all on them it has been best form and ties in with the winners stats of other Arkle winners, its got good Cheltenham form so getting up the hill will be no problem also won over further then 2 miles last time out, seems to be getting better and better over fences with being able to give Captain Chris 10lbs and still win. Backed Chartreux in the Pertemps 12/1 E/W NRNB going to have a very small weight if getting in and Pipe had laid it out for this. Backed Champion Court 14/1 E/W Been watching Champion Court taking money for the Albert Bartlett over the past couple of weeks which I thought was weird given it went off at 11/1 LTO when I backed it and didn't show the talent it showed at Cheltenham when storming up the hill on its first hurdles start but after a google, Keighley has been out saying the whole yard was out of form (explains the price LTO) and it had a foot injury, he shut the yard down after that run but is now back up and running getting results. Champion Court is 12/1 NRNB. |
