seems to be a wide range of ticket prices and i bet they have hiked up entry prices for the currently popular swimming and cycling - the 2 events i will be after tickets for. also they dont say how many of each type of ticket will be available

what do we think? more expensice or fair for a one in a lifetime event. one things for sure the demand will be huge

Said on the radio this morning they were expecting around 12 million applications for tickets to the mens 100m final night.

Overall I think the prices are fair, assuming there's a decent percentage availbable in each band. £725 is a lot of money for 1 evening's entertainment, obviously, but as you mention it's a once in a lifetime event. They also seem to be doing stuff to get youngsters along, such as setting ticket prices the same as an under-16's age, which is good.

One thing does baffle me though, who would spend £2012 on a ceremony?

Anyone got any or trying to get some?

I think I've got 4 or 5 of the less popular events (fairly certain one is for canoeing /kayaking which I know nothing about). Dont think any are actually in the Olympic stadium.

I'm hoping to get enough tickets to spend a couple of consecutive days at the games with the missus. Will probably need to find people to swap tickets as I'm sure mine will be spread over several days.

I tried for the Mens 100m final which was on my birthday and the Men's football final.

I didn't get either.

I've just got an e-mail inviting me to buy tickets in the second round, I'll have a look at what's still available.

I've heard that the vast majority of tickets left are for the football.

There just isnt a GB Olympic tradition in football. Scheduling matches at Hampden seems a mistake given the Scottish FA's hostility to the GB concept. That said, there'll probably be an uptake in interest when the fixtures are published. And once the games start people might feel more interested in going.

But football and tennis just shouldnt be in the olympics

I don't think any sport should be allowed in the Olympics where Olympic gold isn't the pinnacle of the sport.

So I wouldn't have Boxing or Basketball in either.

Result!

Athletics on the evening of 8th Aug & Canoeing/Kayaking on the morning of 9th.

Just need to pick up tickets for a couple of the more obscure events in the mornings or afternoons, find an exhorbitantly priced hotel and the jobs a good 'un.
