I knew he was really ill but still a bit of a surprise none-the-less. Before my time but have heard some stories about him. RIP.

For all his shortcomings he's the reason there are so many well off players today,imo.Ive lost count of how many times my dads told me the story of his 2 nights at the nupro club in Ashton back in the day ! R.I.P. Hurricane...

TBH, without meaning to sound crass, I'm a little bit surprised he made it to 61 with the lifestyle he's led in his time. Always seemed one of those who would burn out too early.

One of the most naturally gifted players to have held a cue.

He was a character,no doubt about that.
Anybody else remember his televised game with Jimmy White? They averaged 12 minutes a frame.
