I made the big mistake of watching above game having listened too much to the pre match hype. They convinced me that it was a game not to be missed. Wrong!! Kick, kick, kick, kick, kick. Not one proper break was made. On the odd occasion someone did try to run with the ball player and ball disappeared in a heap. Then from the ensuing pile up 2 or 3 forwards would get the ball in a huddle and try and gain half a metre. If they made a metre or more this was met with rapturous applause. How anyone can compare this game with Rugby league is beyond me. It makes the current criticisms of our game ( slow play the balls for eg.) so insignificant. Roll on next Friday when the season starts for a sport that is worth watching.
That was a really bad game, even by RU standards. The bonus points are a joke too - Northampton settling for a defeat just so they'd get their losing bonus point or whatever.

It's unbelievable how hyped it is for how poor the game is.
I enjoyed watching the lads on 8 out of 10 cats take the mickey out of Rugby Union last night but then Jimmy Carr dig have a dig at League aswell(but i'll let him off).

It did look a very good crowd, and looking on the BBC website it gives a figure of 26,000, whether that's correct or not I don't know but it looked a big crowd.
You get the feeling when watching it on TV that it's so much more than just a Rugby match but an event.
For me although SKY have done a fantastic job of broadcasting are game, I can't help but think that recently it's coverage has gone a little stale. The 6pm kick off on a Saturday night for me is a poor time, I'd favor either a noon kick off on a Sunday or a game shown after the Super Sunday program.
Of course the biggest favor the game could give to Sky in terms of helping them improve the image that they represent would be to have five figure crowds at all matches. Nothing makes me cringe more in this fantastic game of our's, than a ground such as Wakefield partially filled, providing zero atmosphere. It may have been a crap game between Munster and Northampton but in terms of atmosphere at the ground it well surpasses most of our regular season games.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.
Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds
Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!
