Post subject:  RIP Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson

The two above named were the two people killed in a fire at a block of flats in Malton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Not many people will know but Jamie Kyne was the top apprentice jockey in the UK and was only 18 years old. Jan Wilson also had a promising career ahead of her - she was 19. Sad for racing and a very sad day for sport in general :(

Appears that way (especially as someone was arrested very shortly afterwards).

I guess all will become clear in the next day or so but a very tragic event and perhaps puts some of the Fallon returning hysteria in perspective.

Absolutley devastating news..

Been watching and backing Jamie Kyne for quite a while now, always on the look out for a good apprentice who can take valuable lbs off with their claim and he was one of the best around at the moment and had a really bright future ahead of him in the game.

Sad for all their family and friends and a real loss to the game.

Also have to comment on how brave a lad Ian Brennan must be, he was one of the two who escaped the blaze, but still went ahead with his job of riding at Thirsk yesterday and York today. That must have taken some balls to do considering what has happened..

R.I.P.

A friend of mine goes up there a few times a year, earlier this year he was talking to Jan just after her horse had bolted and she had cut her arm.She was more concerned about the horse than her arm when the horse was returned safe she was even more bothered about her smashed phone! He said she was as nice a person you could meet,as was Jamie, terrible to hear this news r.i.p.
