The Serie A not as physicall as the Premiership ? You must be joking lol Serie A is much slower but the contact and fouls commited are much worse than what goes on in our league. The likes of Momo Sissoko and Patrick Viera absolutely thrive in Serie A because they can get stuck in without the worry of a Red Card. And the guy who wants Alex Song from Arsenal His a poor mans Salif Diao! |

Would be ideal for City but seems intent on real madrid. |

The EPL is much quicker and physically demanding than Serie A. You may get plenty of filthy stuff in Italy, but it's not the same as a physically challenging match. Song is one of the best prospects in the Premier League, impressed me several times. Did you watch the 4-4 draw at Anfield? He played Alonso and Mascherano off the park. |

I'd rather have Aquilani than Lee Cattermole. I think. I see the potential in Cattermole but he's more a Mascherano type player than an Alonso. The reason Alonso is looking so indespensable is his abilty to get his foot in and be able to pass as well. Whichever midfielder we sign however will surely increase our goals from central midfield. They got 1 in open play between them last year. 1. I would let Mascha carry on with the dogs work and stick someone in their who if anything, is slightly more attacking than Alonso but with the ability to stick his foot in as well. Welcome back Jan Molby. |

Come on, played them off the park? Arsenal had four chances and took all four, one or two created by our players. We dominated Arsenal that match and should never have lost it. Arsenal spent the game counter attacking, if we were dominated in the middle, they would have controlled the game - they didn't. Song is a decent player, looks like Wenger might have to use him more as a centre back. |

I know our resident Arsenal/Leeds fan haunts these pages no more (Lenny) but what do people make of Arsenal's pre season? They've lost 2 very important players to city, serious injury to Nasri, more fun and games from Usmanov and, unless I'm missing something, no signings of note. In fact, you could say it's been a summer of discontent for all of the top 4 for various reasons. |

Song is a decent player, looks like Wenger might have to use him more as a centre back. We were on top in the second half but didn't play the better football. Song looked much more capable than either of our middle two in that game. I think he's got bags of potential. |

I wouldn't worry about them losing players,. Apparently Arsenal fans are happy with the transfers of Toure and Adebayor. Both are rubbish apparently and are on the 'slide'. However, some Arsenal fans are amongst the most clueless football supporters you will ever come across. Wenger said they had 7 centre-halves, including Toure. Surely he cannot mean 7 who are good enough for a top 4 team. Senderos is not good enough, Gallas is on the wane, Djourou is okay, Song is simply not good enough, Vermaelen is unproven in a top league, while Silvestre is poor and injury prone. It has thus far, but there is time for that to change. I would think that Chelsea will dip into the market for a couple of players. If I was a Chelsea fan, I would hope that they get another midfielder to compliment Lampard and Essien. Ballack just doesn't seem to fit in well. Liverpool are pretty much the same as last year. If they lose Alonso though, they will need to get in a top quality midfielder. If they keep Alonso, I quite fancy them to win the league, bar a major injury to Gerrard. Ronaldo is obviosuly a big miss to United. Not just because of the amount he scores, but the timing of his goals as much as anything else. He has that habit of scoring goals in scrappy games when United are not on top. He seems to have scored a number of times to give United 1-0 or 2-1 wins. |
