I would assume that the huge majority of the viewing audience are watching because of enjoying the racing. I follow racing and know there are some of the best flat races in the world and they are the reason for this festival occuring in the first place. I can't stand Royal Fiascot, i've watched the races on ATR though.

Katherine Jenkins As good a sight as shes is it always grinds my gears the lack of time that coverage actually focuses on the racing instead of some bints in posh frocks

The whole point of Royal Ascot is the 'gentry' and what they are wearing, thus why it is called ROYAL Ascot, and not just Ascot!!... To those attending, the fashion is as important as the racing, probably why the Beeb spend a bit of time highlighting this??

I disagre, I think a good majority watch BBC for the coverage they have had this week and won't be disappointed. Your not wrong I know a few elderly relatives who have no interest in racing but watch it for The Queen and fashions.
