Indeed. He can produce some excellent performances, but then at times he is very, very poor. We need a bit more consistency.
Our best central defender this season has been Onouha. He looked a great talent when he was 18 yrs old but he had so many injuries that he spent around two years on the treatment table or trying to get fit. We need someone to play alongside him.

The Dane appears to be more composed and assured, as well as a better passer and a threat in the opposition half.

Albiol is a quality player but there is talk of him going to Real, as part of the £300m Galactico recruitment drive. We have no chance if Real are interested.
I was gutted that we didn’t get Chielleini as I rate him very highly. IMO he’s the best Italian defender by quite a distance ATM.
Kompany is a centre-half. I would imagine that Hughes will plat him in defence or he will be used as a squad player.
We are, according to the newspapers, interested in Lescott. That would be interesting if it came off. I think he and Onouha would complement each other quite nicely, and both have a lot of improvement left in them.
A centre-half has to be our priority, along with someone who can play as a lone striker.
