That's why Alonso and Arbeloa are being chased by Madrid, Mascherano Barca, Agger Milan...

Where did I say that? You compared City's defensive signings and strikers with Chelsea and United defenders and forwards. I simply compared United and Chelsea's defenders to yours.

Arbeloa is so good, that you brought in someone else to replace him.

£12m? How did you come up with that figure? How do forumistas come up with such figures?

It's not just about how a team performs on paper, is it?

I don't know about anybody else but IMO Arsenal have got two magnificent deals out of selling Kolo Touré & Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City for a combined £40m+, If i was looking at the Arsenal team at the start of the 2009/10 season Robin Van Persie & Eduardo would have been my first choice pairing and the fact they have Nicklas Bendtner who is still only 21 & Carlos Vela the higly rated 20 year old waiting in the wings won't affect them too much i don't think. Given the fact Touré wasn't even a regular last season and the purchase of Thomas Vermaelen for €10m gives the indication that Arsène Wenger was already planning for the loss of Touré, Arsenal have more than enough cover in Central Defence with Gallas, Vermaelen, Senderos, Djourou & Silvestre, Should they sign a Battling Holding Midfielder i wouldn't be suprised seeing Arsenal challenging at the very top...

I'd like to see an Arsenal side if Wenger was to stick with the same squad and everyone was fit something like this:

-----------------------------Manuel Almunia-----------------------------
Bacary Sagna----William Gallas--------Thomas Vermaelen----Gaël Clichy
----------------Samir Nasri--Cesc Fàbregas--Tomáš Rosický--------------
-------------------------------Andrei Arshavin-------------------------------
--------------------Eduardo---------------Robin van Persie----------------

That Arsenal team you named looks so unbalanced and weak.

Maybe be so Arsenals weakest area is Central/Holding Midfield, The attacking talent they have to offer is up there with the best in the Premiership...

Toure signing completed, but what will delight most City fans is Onouha signing a 5 year deal.

At least he'll get a year to prove himself when Tourés contract runs out...

I think it's unlikely Wenger won't play a big man. The attacking players need somebody to play off, somebody to hold the ball up and find them in space. Adebayor was excellent at it, Bendtner is pretty woeful IMO, and he'll be playing even more this season.

Sometimes it's not all about having fantastic attacking players, but getting the balance of the team right. I just can't see how Wenger will fit in Arshavin, Eduardo and RvP in the same team. Maybe play Arshavin as a winger, but even so, they still look pretty average.
