Well dont to those who had Redford...good call!
Absolutely pig sick about Temple Meads today...a horse I've kept a real close eye on this season and backed it big the last two times...Although questioning Fortune last time I had accepted that I thought it blatantly didn't stay the 6f and thought it would just turn out to be a top class 5f specialist.
Just goes to show we were right on here last time to criticise Fortune because he failed to settle the horse and got it to the front very early and it badly ran out of steam having looked all over the winner. I haven't seen the race today but by all accounts it was pulling a bit hard again early on but Richie Mullen has managed to settle it in behind and according to the race report come through making 'smooth headway' and ran on strongly to win well.
Why can a jockey with the experience of Fortune fail to be able to settle a horse and end up riding a hold up horse from the front? It beggars belief and I will never, ever back one of his mounts again... Richie Mullen on the other hand I think is a bit under-estimated and have no problems backing him....
Rant over!
