There are some v.good players down there though, you realise how good must Prem players be if non-league footballers are that good at just keeping the ball.

Even at that level you need to have some ability. During Bootle's presentation day we had a five-a-side tournament, my team made the semi's but I think you only appreciate their ability when you play against them, even at that level.

Be great if you earn a contract though, you will have to keep me informed on your quest for a contract mate.

I've actually canceled my holiday to go training :? wish they knew. Not for a sympathy contract but Wilkes said he is looking for players who he knows will turn up and give 100%. Being from Runcorn myself I'd do that. I want this so much and I hope I'm rewarded. We'll see.

Let's hope so. Would be great if they gave you a contract after the effort. As you say you would turn up each week and give 100%. At this level the committment and effort is main factor, one of the things oby looks for in the Bootle players, luckily it's a good group of lads who do turn up each week.

There is a young lad who played for your youth team last year. Centre mid with ginger hair called Rob, not sure of his surname. Do you know him?

Not many have been turning up for training it has to be said. We had 8 there yesterday  Although a few are away but not sure where the rest are.

Now seeing you in a Runcorn shirt would be nothing short of surreal

We had a Rob Hardwick who came up from the youth to play first team games last season, who would fit the bill but i would be suprised if he moved on. Rob White i think is a name I also recognise from our youth set up, never played first team so not saw him but they are the only robs i know of.

Shame only a few have turned up to training, I was talking to Oby (Bootle's manager) on Facebook few days back and he had 40 turn up for the first training sessions, obviously first team, reserve and youth but good turn out all the same. Now we're in a higher league I can't wait to get going now 8th August home to Silsden but if you get going for Runcorn it'll be them games i'll look forward too  I might even buy you a pint in our fabulous new clubhouse

We beat Chadderton 1-0 last night in a friendly. I got a half as a wing back, thought I did alright but not hopeful of getting signed as we have around about 22 players for the friendly's...with most if not all of them having experience of playing at that level already. I haven't but i didn't feel out of my depth. But its weird how we only had 8 for a couple of training sessions but they turn up for the games.
