IMO it's because Sunday's game was more of a must win than last nights. We have two legs over Porto whereas we only had the one chance v Villa.
Plus it gave Tevez an extra days rest to get back from Bolivia as he was leading the attack.

Rafael is, and Fabio didn't play versus Newcastle last week.
Brown did play 30odd minutes, so he maybe given a chance v Sunderland at CB with Neville at RB.
