Can't even begin to try and sleep, I'm way too giddy after that! We better not take another 24 years to do it.

Amusing moment in the post test interviews for me was when Ali Cook was being interviewed, it went something like "in this series you've scored 250 or so more runs than in the last 2 Ashes series put together, what's changed?" and immediately the crowd burst into "he bowls to the left....", still makes me chuckle now!

Just got back. Wonderful, my fourth aussies in Oz and is rather a weird feeling., this winning mullarky.

The Barmy Army even got Billy Bowden to do a small sprinkler dance at square leg when they aussies were 9 down!!!! Priceless. He seems to really enjoy himself.

Prematch, Ian Healy did the sprinkler dance to the Army before he was being filmed. Top day. One in history and another for me personally in Oz as I was at the finish line in 2000 at Penrith to see Redgrave win his 5th Gold.

When Clarke was talking at the presentation, they started singing "you'll be fired in the morning" and "you're not as good as Ponting"

Very proud. Will the aussies stop telling me how shıt we English are at sport. Nope. But after today I'll just smile at them.

Well it doesn't help if they know you're a rugby league fan. They know they have the 2nd best team in the world, and we are 3rd at best.

I have loved watching this series and seeing the players celebrating today was amazing. I need sleep now though so glad it's ended. Wish I had been part of the crowd as the atmosphere looked fantastic.

What do you call an Australian cricketer with a hundred runs against his name?

A bowler.

It's been fun.

Well, how to summarise this series??......

It has been simply astonishing. IIRC most people on here (including myself) thought England would be good enough to maybe sneak away with a drawn series or possibly a victory by the odd test to retain the urn. A 3 v 1 series win is convincing enough but does not really tell the whole story of how dominant England have been and how utterly $hit Australia have been!

To win 3 test matches by an innings and some in Australia is just unheard of. Only once have a touring team won by an innings twice, to do it 3 times sets new, unparralelled standards. The series has set all sorts of new run scoring/partnership records, Jimmy Anderson's haul of wickets is the best by an England bowler for half a century and the bowling stats for the series in general are excellent. Ian Bell has only batted 6 times coming in at number 6, having played all 5 test matches, which again is astounding.

Congratulations must go to Andy Flower and the back room people for the preperation and build up of the tour, the whole thing has been one big success story from start to finish (barring a small blip in Perth :) )

Onwards to Adelaide and Melbourne for the T20 games........
