As for yesterday I stand by what I said. I'm afraid that what comes out of Chris Froomes mouth does not tally with what is in his head. Complete disrespect for his team leader. Only other explanation is Brad told him to go and the DS said no.

Clearly Froome has had the media training, but without knowing what is actually going on inside his head, it's impossible to draw another conclusion. It'll be an interesting one to monitor in the future.

Liked what Brad was saying after today's stage about wanting to lead a sprint out in Le Tour. There's a real chance for Sky to end this Tour with three straight stage wins and really stamp what has been a ruthlessly impressive domination on proceedings.

Watch for the sideshow in tomorrow's time trial between Davids Millar and Zabriskie, by the way.

The subject of a recent book by Richard Moore (D'ya know) called "Slaying the badger" (aka Hinault). Hopefully tigertot will be unwrapping it next week for his birthday.

Excellent book it is too. I highly recommend David Millar's book if you haven't already read it.

On the ITV v Eurosport debate, ITV all the way for me. Can't be doing with the Eurosport commentary. When Sean Kelly's not sending me to sleep, David Harmon is busy missing the crucial moments. That and the mind-numbing translated interviews that interrupt the coverage every now and again.

Loved the old Channel 4 theme tune, but the ITV one is not half bad either.

Crikey. Tejay van Garderen catches and passes Cuddles as they go under the 20km banner and just effs off into the distance.

Froome smashing it. Half a minute better than everyone except one person...

A masterful display by Wiggo just now and a slap round the back of Froome's head just to remind him who is boss.

Been watching cycling since about 1984, never thought I'd see this day, quite emotional.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Brilliant. As Dave Brailsford said, "He smashed it". Bit lost for words, to be honest. What a day for British cycling - British sport even.
