Just watching the European Championships on ITV4, first time I turned over, surprise surprise, it's Taylors match. Playing John Michels from Greece. Listening to Stuart Pyke on commentary, he's making this guy out to be some kind of retard.
"OH MY GOD, THIS GUY HAS JUST HIT A 180 AGAINST THE POWER!". Deary me today.
Started well though, 102 checkout and broke lardarse's throw. Pyke making out that the 102 was the biggest checkout of this guys career. nice person.

He will struggle to get Sid Waddell from the Chief Exec position at the Phil Taylor Fan Club though.

Doesn't mean people have to agree with everything he says though. I like Sid and his knowledge of darts is brilliant but when Taylor's on it's just love fest.

True mate. What I was trying to point out was he has done a lot for promoting darts.I know he goes o.t.t.,but that is him,he won`t change.Nobody can accuse him of being boring.
Anybody who shows a bit of passion for the game,Sid,Stevo, etc seem to get lambasted.

I think he gets lambasted for his obsession with Taylor, we all know how good Taylor is and what he can do but his obsession with him and the way he talks when he's playing is frustrating. Personally I prefer it when Sid isn't commentating on Taylor. I love the way Sid is, his passion for darts is brilliant, he's put it on the map and is synonomous with it now it's just when he talks about Taylor it's a little ott.
He certainly isn't boring you're right there, I don't think we'd want him to change. From what I've seen on this board, he's being criticised for the way he commentates when Taylor plays and I can see where they're coming from.
