came up from the WWE's 'Development' territory. Now a few pottered about on the 'Indie' scene before they were signed up [Punk, Harry Smith, TJ Wilson etc] but none have the background of working the territories that the older guys had. The territories are where you honed your craft and being a sculpted performer before you move up to the big one that is WWE. The new guys just don't have this advantage, so never come up to the WWE roster as a finished, polished product. The have no idea about promos and about ring psychology. This is why WWE sucks. Not the writers, not the corny backstage skits. It's tje fact that when, in a few years, the guys i've mentioned have all retired WWE will be full of guys who have simply come up through developmental. Not really a positive future for Pro Wrestling, really.

Correct. It's like there being no minor League baseball or even National League Rugby and everyone has to be selected and developed through junior and Academy systems. They hit the big time before they are ready and are just disregarded as not being good enough almost instantly. A massive thing is wrestlers not being comfortable within their own gimmick; sometimes we'll see a Wrestler signed and allowed to use his current gimmick (dudley boys for example), but when someone comes in and is given a completely new gimmick to get in to, they can often seem uncomfortable in it and not fulfil their potential.

That said, the booking is woeful at times in the 'E.

Did you see him at the weigh in?

He did the whole "are you ready... I said are you ready" thing. Needless to say, he got very little reaction from the boxing fans other then the few boo's he was already getting   I think he thought the mic was turned off after he said it because he did a little bang on it to make sure it was working

See, kids, you can sleep with the bosses daughter and book your way to the top all you want. But if you've not got, you've not got it.

having just watched it on youtube i can say that that is a rather inaccurate version of events

Watched the Eddie Guerrero tribute Raw + SD episodes last night, still very emotional to watch. Think it's the 4th anniversary of his passing next month - a true wrestling legend.

My All-Star Wrestling 2 game arrived the other day from Japan. :D Really enjoyable to play and great graphics (even though it's from 2001! ), easily as good to play as the recent SmackDown games IMO. Funny highlights inc:

- Being able to beat up the ref
- Great in-ring announcing (even though obviously you can't understand any of it  )
- You can attack your opponent after the match has finished (which leads to furious bell-ringing by the guy at ringside  )
- No commentary/music during matches (refreshing change).

:)
