Just been to see Bradford Park Avenue beat Ossett Albion 2-0, which means if they win on Saturday they are promoted as champions from Unibond Division One.
Wasn't a bad game, lots of hoofing with any football that was played being from Avenue but only in and around the opponents box. It was pretty tasty in the first half too, plenty of bookings and some shocking diving and play-acting too, which must have been from the numerous foreigners on show.
I don't know if anyone knows much about finance at that level, but a bloke I used to work with who follows Avenue told me that their wage bill is 6.5k per week? I know their chairman has thrown his money around a bit but surely that's way too high at that level? Especially as their usual attendance is about 350 (1081 tonight though).

Apparently there's some daft mathematical possibility that Bromley can make the Conference South play-offs but I don't think we can grumble with a top half finish in our first year at the higher level.
Our current eighth spot puts us at 131.5th in English football, which would be our best finish since the 131st of 1994-95.
