In Savage's defence he's always appeared to me to be a "what happens on the field stays on the field" kind of player. It's totally within character for him to play down what happened.
But from those photographs he's obviously lying.
Which do you think holds more weight, Savage's comment or the photographic evidence?

What photographic evidence? Hardly overwhelming is it? I cant see any spit on Savage, so whos to say Ronaldo wasnt just clearing his throat or nose like footballers do about 20 times a game.
I will take Savages word over a photo that tells us
Wigan RLFC - The Biggest Laughing stock in the history of Rugby League.

Why is he 'obviously lying'? The pictures show Ronaldo spitting in Savage's direction, it's not as if he's wiping the phelgm off his blonde locks is it? If there's another angle that 'proves it' I look forward to seeing it. Before that, I'll take Savage's view over yours. He was closer.
Feel free to get all giddy about it though, knock yourself out. Think you might be on your own though mate.

Pictures seemed to show him spitting at Savage, though the Derby star insisted: "Nothing happened.
If you have got pictures showing that sort of thing, it was definitely something I wasn’t aware of.
I’ve got absolutely no problem with him."
So it's not really a "nothing happened". More of a "Nothing happened as far as I'm aware".

Savage was yards away and the spit was allegedly aimed at him. I'm struggling to figure out who has got a better view? If he wasn't aware of it there's a good chance it didn't happen.

Let's just say, opinions would be different if it was Drogba or Gerrard.

If there was a picture showing Gerrard spitting in the general direction of Robbie Savage, and Robbie Savage said (paraphrased) 'he didn't spit at me' I don't think anyone would be claiming Gerrard did it. No one with a brain in their nut anyway. Same for Drobga.

Somehow, I just don't think that is the case.
