deary me,Joe Jordan,as I recal watching him play regularly, was a decent player - Leeds were a top team and to get anywhere near to playing for them in that era meant he had to be useful - Man U don't sign many duff players either,as for AC Milan wanting him, well ?

not a worldbeater ok but deffo not a sh!thouse !

give the guy some credit mate !

I didn't make a comment about his ability. I was simply pointing out that he is/was not a hard man.

As for United buying duff players in the 80s......

He also wasn't with Leeds when they were a great side.

He was decent but not a standout player IMO.

quite agree but just remind you of the Leeds Utd European Cup Final side in 1975 that lost to two late(ish) goals

Stewart,Madeley,Reaney,Bremner,Giles F.Gray,Hunter,Yorath,Clarke,Jordan,Lorimer,Clarke & E Gray as sub !

as I see it, that makes 12 players ALL of which were established internationals with 6 jocks,2 english,I paddy & I taffy

if that's your definition of a not 'great side' side then i'm obviously missing something !

just to remind you of the Man U side that lost to a very good Arsenal side in 1979 :

Bailey,Nicholl,Albiston,McCilroy,Buchan,McQueen,Coppel,J Greenhoff,Jordan,Macari, Thomas & B Greenhoff as sub
that makes 12 players with 11 internationals which isn't that bad surely ?

maybe you need to re assess his credentials ?

Are city really so desperate to win the league that they will welcome Tevez back into the fold for the title run in?

RE the Leeds team: Jordan was not a regular the while time he was there. He was never particularly prolific and offered little outside the box. He may have played in Milan but they were not the great team then than they have been in other periods of their history. It was pretty much Milan's leanest period.

RE the United team: That team was not very good at all. Gary Bailey, Arthur Albiston, Sammy McIlroy, Jimmy Nichol, Martin Buchan, Gordon McQueen and the Greenhoff's were average players. While Mickey Thomas was the 70s/80s equivalent of Lee Trundell. That team proved they were never good enough to win the league. It was only when Robson came along that United looked a top team.

Coppell was a top player though. Superb on his day.

Not as desperate as having to drag someone out of retirement.

Joe Hart has the best saves to shots ratio (79%) of any regular goalkeeper in the 2011/12 Premier League.
Theo Walcott has made 103 crosses from open play and found a team-mate with just 14 this season.
Luis Suarez’s conversion rate (8.3%) in the Premier League compared to the PL average for a striker of 16%.

I see Everton have announced they have signed 20 year old wonderkid Francisco Junior today.

(Anyone know who is he? Got to be good with a name like that, surely?)

Ex Benfica, rejected by City apparently, though he has already played Portugal Uner 21 footy.

Given a 4 and half year deal though and even given a squad number.....Be interesting to see how he develops.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
