Tell themselves they are down and if they go down next week they'll be prepared for it. Tell themselves that they're going to make it and go down though. They'll be bawling like babies.

Personally though, I always veer towards thinking we'll do it until it's mathematically impossible. I think that's what Newcastle should be doing. They should be aiming to beat Villa and saving themselves. Every player should be treating it as the most important game of their lives, and the fans should be backing them fully to pull it off.

From Newcastle's visits to Wembley, I think their belief in themselves would disappear as soon as Villa took the lead.

How have we been knocked off our perch in terms of League titles? Its 18 a piece. Surely if you get to 19 next season, then that would be the case.

That may be the case, but until the Salford Skiprats better our 18 titles and 5 European Cups, then I'd say we're still on our perch.
