For me I think it may be a good move. Quenneville is a great coach and doesnt take any messing which I think was maybe part of Savards problem as he was too nice to the players. Even when he kicked off big style lastseason he then kind of back tracked.
The Hawks have started flat with no real intestity and poor goaltending cost them the first 2 games of the season. Suprised they did this now though after the Hawks best performance of the season.
Rocky Wirtz and the new regime TBF have invested heavily in the club allround and are obviously keen to see some results. Think Scotty Bowman will have had I imagine a valued input into the firing on Savvy and appointment of Quennville with what he had seen since he agreed to join the Hawks in the advisory role.
The other thing this will do is send a message to the whole organisation that if you don't perform your out.
Time will tell if the management will be proved right.
