Unitas Montana Elway Big Ben Eli.
I think it's an interesting point that only that many have done that (and Eli deservedly gets the respect for it (even though i don't like him)), but i'd rather have my QB win it in the other 58 minutes rather than leave it for the last 2.
It would be interesting to see just how many QBs have needed to lead their teams down for a winning touchdown, I cant see there being as many as people would think with a lot of games being more than a 7 point deficit in the end!
Something every elite QB would be trusted to do if needed surely?, oh and Eli Manning too

Don't think anyone would have been able to against that pass rush, the D line stepped up BIG TIME that game
Could see Pierce ending up in New England if he doesn't have ridiculous contract demands, he's a good leader and would get the D organised and would compliment Mayo at ILB very well.

Weve had a great tradition over the past 85 years of having great linebackers from Huff in the 50's to the crunch bunch(Kelley,Van Pelt, Carson, Taylor) in the 70's and early 80's then we added Reasons and Carl Banks in the mid 80's. Any decent LB's knocking about in free agency?
Karlos Dansby & Barrett Ruud are FA's, McClain might be gone by the time the Giants pick, but Spikes would still be on the board.

No thanks he rubbish and well past his sell by date IMO

He might be past it, but BB likes his vets, and cheap ones who offer something, Pierce offers leadership that was clearly missing this season, even if he's only a 2 down player he would be good for a year or 2 because he's better then Guyton & McKenzie is an unknown because he was IR'd this year.

He's led us in tackles the past few years and wasnt to blame last year. I like the idea of him going to New England, would be a great pick up. Im really hoping that Pery Fewell can re-ignite our defence next year, rumours are that we are going into a tampa 2. If that doesn't work, I hope the rams go 0-16 and spags returns.

If the Giants go Tampa 2 then Ruud from Tampa would be a logical LB FA pickup because he's a good LBer considering who he plays for and is very well suited to the Tampa 2 from what I've seen.

Guyton is a good player IMO hes just young like the vast majority of our D and your right we do need a leader but Pierce isnt it, Mayo will step into that role and do well, theres better LBs out there than Pierce available especially when the no salary cap is confirmed in a few weeks, there will be a load being released with teams able to get rid of the big earners e.c.t, and Im sure no sleeves will take advantage of that as usual

Guyton is good, but he would be far better used on passing downs only (he runs a 4.4 40 which is the same as WR's & RB's) and he seemingly isn't strong enough to shed blocks on running plays (might be why he was undrafted) but before Pierce I'd take Dansby or Ruud, especially Dansby he's a great player and would allow Mayo to move back to WILB where he played at college and in his rookie year.
