I think that may depend on who would decide whether to challenge or not. If it was left to the players who would be near the action, then have no monitors. If it was down to managers/coaching staff to make the decision, then it would probably be beneficial to have monitors just for that as they won't be able to see every thing clearly from the sidelines.

I find it amusing how you presume I am a bandwagoner when I've supported the team since I was a young 'un in the mid 90s and were struggling as much as we are now.
Struggling? When was the last time Liverpool didn't make the top 4?
When was the last time Liverpool didn't qualify for Europe?
Now if you'd have been a Latics, Leeds Utd, Burnley or York City supporter you could have said struggle and nobody would have disagreed.

We have struggled to make a huge impact on the League, we should be matching the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd by winning the league, this is the department we've struggled in since winning the old Division one in 1989/1990.
The last time we failed to make the top 4 was 2002/2003.
We are struggling to make that final push and this season has been one of our worst. We should be a top four club but we will be lucky to get that at the minute.
I'll be the first to admit that the teams you've mentioned have struggled, Leeds mainly, but in prospective of what we're expected to have achieved by now, we have struggled too.

After what Mourinho done with the monitors when he was dragging it out for the ref to look at, I can see why they banned them, but, it was a poor call IIRC so, if they were to bring in a referral system of some sort, surely it would be a bit easier if the coaching staff can watch on the sideline before they refer it, or would it be an on-field decision only?
As for players running to the ref, are you accusing them of being dishonest and trying to con the referee? :o
Noooooo
They'd never do that.
I think its a case of the refs discretion of whether an incident should be looked at...maybe the captain can approach the official.
Another problem thought might be how far back can they go too look at an incident. The ball can stay in play for 3 or 4 mins maximum usually so if a team believed a player of theirs was fouled and no free-kick was given they could then in theory challenege that decision????
I'm all for Video Replays but wouldn't be as straight forward as it seems.

Why should you be matching Chelsea and Man Utd by winning the league? Your team isn't good enough, let alone your squad.
