United need some money spent if they're to keep up with Chelsea because players like Anderson, Gibson, Rafael and Foster are just not good enough imo.
Foster could do nothing with the goal, it took an awful deflection.
Rafael didn't do too badly, but been a natural RB it was difficult for him, especially playing behind a midfield 4 that have never played a competitive match together, plus with Park in front of him who has been out injured for a while.
I didn't think we did too badly in the second half, Obertan was quality throughout, we had some decent balls into the box, if Owen had been playing when they were made, I'm sure he would've scored. Welbeck is not a bad player when he has the ball under control, just his first touch lets him down on occasions.
Macheda and Brown were unlucky not to score, some great saves by Rustu, and Evra should've had a penalty. Still, fair play to Besiktas, I'm sure we'll get the point we need in Germany.

Oh and I want Rafa out now, last night was the final straw. He can be good, but I think his signings have been poor, he tactical decisions in a game are questionable. He isn't the right man to lead Liverpool to the summit of the league
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo.
In Rafa we trust....

Im not Basing Foster and rafael on tonights performance. I never see them do well. Do you ever see Foster pull off saves like Rustu today ? His another Scott Carson imo.
Danny Wellbeck is qulity, absolute Gem and much better developed than Machada at this age.
Whats you opinion on Anderson ? For me he is poor! Very poor. He doesent do enough in attack and he isent that good at breaking play up like a Fletcher or Mascherano.

Foster is actually a top shot stopper, his problem is that he is prone to errors (seems a standard requirement to be an English 'keeper) and his communication isn't the best, still he's low on confidence ATM which can't help. Rafael is actually a quality RB, he's much better than Neville, and offers more than O'Shea, although he isn't as consistent as O'Shea yet, which is obvious as he's only 19ish, that will come with experience.

I think Macheda has a better first touch than Welbeck, and he is obviously physically stronger. They've both been shifted out left on occasions, like Rooney in the past, and I think they'll only get better with more game time. I'd like to see them get a chance alongside Rooney one time.

I'm actually a big Anderson fan. He has excellent work rate, he's got decent strength and has a very good passing range. One problem for him is that sometimes he tries the special killer ball at times which doesn't work with the strikers in front of him. Again he's only 21ish, his decision making and quality will only improve over time, he is a lot stronger when he has either Carrick or Fletcher at his side, and when he and Fletch are in the middle together, we have a decent, competitive midfield.
