Oh no, I wasn't saying he was making excuses. I just find it strange that he felt the need to abandon the glasses. Seems like somewhere in his mind he thinks they've affected him somehow, or that by playing without them again it would remove a distraction. I wouldn't have had him down as a player who would be bothered by something like that.

Me neither, unless they were a genuine distraction and affected his balance? I guess it's a fine line between a treble 20 and a single and if the glasses are making any slight difference then it would affect his game.

I have to take my glasses off when I play darts. I'm better without them and it's not a psychological thing. If you wear glasses and you are constantly changing your line of vision, the rim of the glasses comes into play, you see things clearly through the centre but not to the side etc. You wouldn't think it would be a problem with darts because the target is a small area but it can be annoying, or at least a minor distraction.
Playing pool with your glasses on is a bloody nightmare!

It's about time some of them grew up and stopped booing Meryn King as there could be a chance he might walk away from the game and if he did that would be terrible. I like Mervyn King - he's a damn good player.
