Pretty pleased with our picks today, missed them with being at the Saints game though.

Andrew Quarless TE in the 5th. Can't see I new much about him but aparently he is like Finley (which is a very good thing). Decent blocker, built similar to Finley and will be a mismatch stretching the field. No questions about his ability but he has been in trouble (seems to turned himself around) and re-dedicated to playing football. Decent value pick and could be great.

Marshall Newhouse in the 5th. Good solid depth.

James Starks RB in the 6th. Decent runner who is a QB converted to CB converted to RB. Will run any wildcat packages we go to. Kick return for us, change of pace back. Very good value for his versatility.

CJ Wilson DE in the 7th. Would have gone Donovan Warren CB but Wilson will be pretty much just a body on our line.

Any of you guys in the know about college football fancy doing some draft grades? From what I've read we seem to have done reasonably well with our draft. As I've said in the past I've never watched college football so my knowledge of our picks is what NFL.com says. Hope we an go out and get another WR or 2 for Bradford to aim at.

Very strange from the Panthers if they didnt have a starting QB it would have made more sense to have more players to compete for the job, but I thought Matt Moore was their starter? :?

I can understand Clausen, but not taking 2 others as well. I know 1 is being converted to reciever, but it's still 2 picks they could have used elsewhere. One of them, they traded next year's 3rd to get.

Reckon the Bills want to win the Jake Locker sweepstakes

I watch alot of college football so i'll give my honest opinion on your picks.

1. Bradford. Good player but my preference for Clausen is well documented. Grade A-
2. Saffold. Again, good player but at the position he was selected i think you could have gone with an impact player and taken a o-line later. Grade C.
3. Murphy. Can't say i know too much about him. Better players available at that point, like Ghee though. Grade C.
4. Gilyard. Very good reciever and excellent value in the 4th. Grade A.
5. Hoomanawanui. Don't know much but he is a blocking TE. Grade C.
5. Hall. Decent prospect at this time. Solid pick. Grade C.
6. Onobun. I heard about him prior to the draft and if he pans out he could be excellent. No danger if he busts picking him here. Grade B.
6. Sims. I know nothing about him. Grade N/A.
7. Johnson. I know he was predicted to go a round or two higher so is decent at this point. Grade B.
7. Selvie. Played across from, and was IMO better than JPP. He collected double teams not JPP and he was still very very good. I really rate him and wish we'd have nabbed him in the 5th. Grade A++++
7. Hull. No idea about him. Grade N/A

Having had a look at the last few rounds i think the best and worst drafts were:

Best:
Carolina. Clausen will start and win ORoY. They picked excellent value at every single pick. Clausen was great value. Hardy a year ago was considered a first round pick. LaFell is a good reciever. Norwood a good LB. Pike is insurance.

Tampa Bay. McCoy is a beast. First three rounds couldn't have gone any better. All very good players. Mike Williams is a good prospect and Dekoda Watson in the 7th is beyond a steal.

49ers. Not a big Iuapati fan but the other three picks they made in the first four rounds (Davis, Mays and Bowman) all are first round talents.

Worst:
Buffalo. Horrible, horrible draft. Aside from Danny Batten in the 6th they are all bad.

Denver. Cutler and Marshall into Thomas and Tebow says it all. I like Perrish Cox in the 6th but the rest of the draft was poor.

Jaguars. Austen Lane in the 5th= Good. Alualu at 10th when he could have been had about 2 rounds later is the single worst pick of the draft.

How can taking 3 QB's equate to a good draft? sure Clausen was a steal where they got him, as was Norwood & Hardy but taking 3 QBs is just silly.

For me:

Best: Oakland (solid draft with good players and needs), Seattle (Carroll has rebuilt the team in one fell swoop pretty much), San Fran (built a line for Smith & Gore and drafted for need), New England (filled a lot of holes with team captains and 3 or 4 instant starters)

Worst: Denver (wtf Josh, seriously), Chicago (hardly any picks so it's a default really), Buffalo (long season for them)

Clausen will start so was an absolutely excellent pick.

Edwards is 5'11" and 187. He'll be a WR and wildcat player. Kind of an all around athlete.

Pike was picked in the 6th with a compensation pick. 2 or 3 rounds after he should have gone. Good college QB and back-up/development incase Jimmy and Moore don't work out.

If you had the oppurtunity to draft Suh, McCoy and Price in rounds 1 to 3 it wouldn't be bad just because they are the same position.

Carolina had a great draft IMO.

Aside from Gronk i think you had a pretty bad draft also. McCourtney over Wilson was terrible.
