Going off the results which is all I have to base my opinion on - I can understand why you have that view.

The critics don't seem to agree however.

Steel Asylum - Was a fast paced fun opener, shame they had Homicide with the baton as the finish and then after the bell a slow escape where he got stuck. That finish and botched escape took away from it in order to set up Hardy coming in, I don't think that would have been the normal finish. Good to see Hardy back if he can keep himself right.

Tara vs. ODB - Was a bit short of a match for a title change to happen, Tara should have kept the title for longer and the title change happen on PPV in my opinion.

Awesome Kong & Hamada vs. Taylor Wilde & Sarita - This actually got a good amount of time and was quite a good match.

Raven & Dr. Stevie vs. Matt Morgan & Hernandez - Far too short of a match to showcase what Morgan and Hernandez can really do, should have dropped some segments or adverts to make more time for this. Also feel this should have been match 3 to split up the Knockouts matches.

Desmond Wolfe vs. Pope D’Angelo Dinero - decent match if a little short, would like to see them face off again in a longer match at a later date. Pope was brilliant on the mic before the match putting Orlando Jordan down.

Abyss vs. Samoa Joe - first 1 on 1 match between these 2 in TNA, I liked this match but also would have liked to see more.

Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles - Match of the night, brilliant match for free TV but they should have gone commercial free with it, to offer a even better alternative against Vince and Bret.

The segments should have been spaced out a bit, sometimes they had really big gaps between matches. And far too many long advert breaks, with being used to UK advertising where there are around 15 minutes between breaks usually (apart from NFL but with that the break is very short) these breaks were happening every few minutes and lasted for minutes in some cases. They could have dropped some segments and cut some adverts in order to increase match time and improve pacing of the show, they had a good card and the show really could have been improved with more match time.

It was a special though and they had surprises that they wouldn't normally have, it will be interesting to see how TNA moves on in the coming weeks. They have TV tapings for next weeks iMPACT! tonight.

Like Lister said the matches were all too short. 7 matches in 3 hours with 6 of them being 5 minutes max. And two of them were a botchfest.

20 minutes of ads & here's the next 3 yards of Hogans limo pulling up. " He's just around the corner" from Tennay. Christ how big is a corner that takes 20 minutes.

Then 15 minutes which was essentially "TNAmaniacs, brother, fans, brother, hype brother, pose" Wolfpack looking every bit their age. Nasty Boys, Hall, Sean Morley, Sting in the rafters.

Jeff Jarrett 10 minute pat on the back, then a set up for Foley v Hogan.

It was WCW at it's worst. The only way it could get any worse was to hang the belt on Brian Nobbs & re-name the legends belt the "Chris Beniot's a Murderer Commemorative" Belt. Still give them a couple of weeks.

Sounds like what every wrestling fan feared was going to happen.

Watched Raw last night and just finished watching the full 3hrs of TNA, and I can't agree with you Steve51. As I said a few pages back, I caught TNA 2 or 3 times in 2009 and it wasn't even the full episodes, so i'm not some raving TNA fan.

Last nights Raw wasn't much better then it was when I got fed up and stopped watching it on a weekly basis months ago, and TBH it's been that way for the better part of two years now, just so happens last nights show had Bret which made it a bit special.

I thought both of Brets segments were the highlight. The first where he addressed the fans & shawn was decent, the second to close the show with Vince was fantastic. There were a couple of decent matches. DX vs Jericho/show was fairly good and Kofi vs Orton was the best raw match I have seen in a while.

The rest of the show was as terrible as it tends to be, ridiculous 2-4 minute matches which the crowd have no interest in and stupid comedy sections which aren't funny in the slightest (someone please shoot Hornswoggle). Cena is away for one week and the singles main event scene is none existent, who is going to challenge Sheamus at the Rumble? Kofi who was just beat by Orton, twice? "Little" Evan Bourne, no that didn't go well, Mark Henry?

TNA which I just watched was able to surprise me time and time again, and that was not due to my limited knowledge of their talent. The majority of the matches may have been short at 5 or 6 mins but in all honesty they were longer then you get on Raw, and I include their 3hr specials in that.

I don't know if the atmostphere is like that every week in the arena but it was electric compared to what I have become used to in WWE, yes it may have a small capacity and be easier to get the place rocking but when the place is buzzing as much as it was in there the guys in the ring take it to the next level, and it showed. Just look at the knockouts tag match for example, I would take that over the US no.1 contender match from raw everyday of the week having seen it.

Anyway that was way longer then I wanted it to be so i'm gona stop now, but if that's how Nitro was on it's last legs (I wouldn't know, was a WWF guy) then Raw must have died a long time ago because the show I just watched entertained me more than any episode of Raw has in years.

And one last thing, AJ vs Angle was amazing for free TV, the only chance of seeing a match of that quality on Raw is in the weeks running up to 'Mania.

TNA achieved their highest ever rating with a 1.5 cable rating with 2.22 million viewers on average. The peak was the first 15 minutes of the 2nd hour with 2.9 million viewers.

That is great news for TNA and Spike TV as they were just looking at maintaining the number they get on Thursdays, hopefully it will lead to more live specials in the future.

RAW had 5.6 million viewers on average.

Sorry to be negative mate, but wasn't Hogan promising a 3.0? :?

well, given TNA's usual is 1.low, 2.9 is good. Problem is, Hogan seems to be doing what he did in TNA. Brings his old mates along for the ride and forget that it's not 1986 any more.

Where as WWE used Raw to try and put to bed the real issues from Montreal and set back up a working relationship with Bret Hart.

Guess we'll see next week which show is able to pull in a repeat audience. Hogan may have given TNA an injection, but it may turn out to be a lethal one

Unfortunately it's usually an oncoming train
