He could turn out good, but it seems a really 'unprofessional' signing by a club that has one of the best scouting systems in world football.
The worst thing is, Fergie has said all summer, and even longer, that "there's no value in the market". Yet he could have got a player £8m cheaper a few weeks earlier.

I just thought it a bit of a shame that Tevez's howler on sunday meant that Yaya's stunning break was completely overlooked.
Apparently not. Reminds me of the time Amnesty International weren't allowed an opinion on Takshin Shinawatra...
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

We could go on all year laughing at the amounts spent on X, Y and Z. But, to be fair to Aquilani, he was just unfortunate to have somebody like Roy come in and dismiss him. He's a fab player and was fab when he played, just a shame he never had faith from either manager. He's worth more than what we paid for him, he'll prove that at Juve (if they can pick themselves up from the embarrassment from last year), and he would have proved it here had he been kept.

It's a testimonial for one of his ex-team mates charities. If a United fan has a problem with him wearing a Liverpool shirt in that game then they are utterly retarded and should be stoned to death.
The same applies to any Liverpool supporters who boo him. I can understand there being bitterness over him leaving on a free, but I don't understand how any Liverpool fan would begrudge him going to Man United when the alternative was looking like a move to Bolton or some other dire side.
In a Liverpool-MU game they have the right to give him stick. He's an opponent and the past is ample reason to give him stick. But a friendly benefit for Carragher? Only a div would give him grief. They'd be showing themselves up and embarrassing Carragher on a day they should be honouring him.
