Yeah, somebody like that. Big arm around him, go and do your best son. Bit like when Bobby got Jenas playing well at Newcastle, he made 'JJ' feel like he was the best player in the world. Huddlestone has so much ability, his weight od pass, and his ability to spot a pass are as good as anything in the Premiership, he's played very well in central defence, so has that attribute to his game which you need in midfield, but he can't put it all together seemingly.
He needs to go to a side that play football, then they sort of play around him, not that he's Riquelme or anything, I don't mean that they should build a side around him, more that if you got the right blend in midfield, to compliment him, it'd work, West Ham would be good for him, maybe him Parker & Collison say, or as you say Villa, with Petrov & Reo Coker in a three.
Daft as this soundsm he'd probably look immense at Arsenal.

Fascinating to see how city go next year. Is it going too far to say that 5th next season would be a failure?
What do they think Adebayor will do that Santa Cruz doesn't ? (Apart from play)
It's just like for like, granted Santa Cruz is probably a better targetman. Somebody is going to get the Kezman/Crespo treatment, and they ain't going to like it.

One of the best things that Fergie can do is say that the Ronaldo fee has gone on debt reduction. That will mean clubs won't automatically jack up their already inflated prices by another 10m when United come knocking.
It's not strange that Fergie is claiming Benzema is overpriced at 32m, it's probably just a tactic to drive down the price to something like 25m.
Like every manager, just because he says something it doesn't make it true. Fergie has said in the past that there'd be no new signing and then gone out on a shopping spree. Managers all the time say they'll sell 4 and buy 4, and then buy 3 players with none going out. You don't show your cards to everyone, you just bluff about your cards and make everyone guess.

Did he not have half a point ? What has Benzema actually done. Berbatov was at least proven in the Premiership. Plenty have had their fingers burnt signing folk from Ligue 1, Bellion looks decent in that league. Johan Elmander hardly lit up the Premiership last year, neither did Cheyrou and countless others from years gone by.
If you're forking out £3m for Obertan or £31m for Benzema, it's a pretty big outlay if you're not 100% sure how he'll adapt to the Premiership, the pyhsicality of it etc. Even folk who you think would be suited to the Premierhsip struggle, like say, Ryan Babel.

This would've been a great tactic if he hadn't already signed for Madrid for the figure quoted.
I agree about the possibilty of Fergie just calling the bluff by saying there will be no more signings, but I just can't see us signing anyone.

TBH I'd assumed that Benzema was a Man United target when I wrote the post. Just seen that he's already signed for Real.
If Real have overpaid for him then who really GAF? If Man United weren't interested in him then why would Fergie care what his price is? If Man United were interested in him, then a bidding war between MU and RM is obviously going to dramatically push up the price. Fergie will be right to refuse to refuse to spend silly money, but if he was interested then there's obviously strong potential there.
